Jersey Shore-born and raised filmmaker and environmentalist, Gavin Shwahla, points his camera towards home. Having always felt disconnected from the urban and touristy culture of where he grew up, he sets out in search of a more authentic side of the shore.

In doing so, he finds unexpected hope and beauty in the ecosystem that lies just beyond the bars and boardwalks. But just as he discovers the beauty of his home, so does he find passionate individuals fighting against the impending danger of losing it to a plethora of human-induced threats.

In joining their fight, the interconnected nature of the ecosystem and community is made abundantly clear. And the importance of environmental solutions that each conservationist is behind all the more imperative to the existence of the Jersey shore and its summertime culture that Gavin has come to know and love through them.​
